Genetics That Drive the Entire Program

Our herd sires are the foundation of every calf we produce. Each are selected for consistency, performance, and real-world value.

Great cattle don’t happen by accident.

Every decision we make starts with the bulls we choose to build around.

At Spring Valley Ranch, our herd sires are selected with a long-term mindset—focused on producing cattle that are functional, predictable, and profitable for commercial operations.

Our Herd Sires

Great calf crops start with the bulls behind them. Our program relies on AI-quality walking herd bulls like the ones shown below to service our cow herd, often as a follow-up to our embryo and AI programs. A bull has to do more than look the part. He needs to make the next calf crop better than the last, and we believe these bulls can.

Semen is potentially available on most of our current active sires. If you’re interested, contact us directly. We can also potentially offer custom AI services if you need them.

  • Fink 1625 of 8852 L&L

    Registration No: M970632
    DOB: 09/14/21

Fink 1625 has quickly become a cornerstone of the Spring Valley Ranches program. Selected from the Fink offering in 2022, he combines balanced, high-performing EPDs with the low birth weight, growth, marbling, and TSI that fit our goals. His first daughters are now in production, and his ability to sire functional, maternal cattle has already been proven through sons like SVR Cannon 432M.

  • SVR Cannon 432M

    Registration No: M1001472
    DOB: 01/15/24

SVR Cannon 432M is a son of Fink 1625 and a productive Patriot x 380 cow family that has played an important role in our program. His explosive growth and outstanding performance pushed him to the front of our bull pen, including the highest individual yearling weight we've recorded in our production environment. We retained him because we believe he has the potential to be even better than his sire.

  • SVR Royal Inferno 441M

    Registration No: EM1012636
    DOB: 08/07/24

SVR Royal Inferno 441M represents the next generation of our maternal and performance-focused breeding program. A son of Fink/Larson 8857 and backed by the Lady cow family and WC Inferno 6561, he combines low birth weight potential with strong marbling and maternal traits. As a homozygous polled young sire, he is being used heavily in our program, including across our 2026 heifers.

  • M&M Stealth 8501

    Registration No: EM772225
    DOB: 09/01/08

M&M Stealth 8501 is a historic cornerstone of the Spring Valley Ranches program and remains one of our most influential herd sires. His explosive growth, stout build, structural soundness, and outcross pedigree made him an exceptional field-performing bull, while his daughters have continued to prove their value through fertility, functionality, soundness, and mothering ability. His influence remains visible throughout our herd today.

Why Herd Sires Matter to You

The bulls behind the scenes determine the direction of the entire program.

That means when you buy from us, you’re not just buying one bull. You’re buying into a system of genetics designed to:

  • Improve consistency in your calf crop

  • Increase long-term profitability

  • Reduce risk in your breeding decisions

  • Build a herd that performs year after year

Our AI Sires

Every AI sire we choose has a job to do. We use nationally known sires to widen our genetic base, keep our pedigrees relevant on a national level, and bring consistency to our calf crop. They also give our own sires a reference point to measure up against the best in the breed. AI-sired calf crops bring excitement at every stage, from selection and breeding day, through calving, to sale day and into the herds of our long-term customers.

When we use an AI sire, we use him in volume. That gives us paternal siblings to collect useful data on and a clear look at how consistent a calf crop really is. It also lets us sample bulls that may become the herd sires of our future, so our program stays current from one calf crop to the next.

  • DTR Mr Brightside 1107G2

    Registration No: EM930125
    DOB: 05/03/2019

We've used Brightside because we love that he goes back to the 1107 cow family, previously famous at Camp Cooley Ranch. He combines low BW genetics with show-ring appeal, which serves customers seeking attractive and consistent calves.

  • Renn Cowboy Romeo 1505

    Registration No: M959839
    DOB: 03/03/21

We use Cowboy as a maternal punch, for calving ease, and for the respect we have for the consistency in calf crop at Rennert Ranch in Nebraska. His daughters will be a mainstay in our herd for years to come.

  • WC Inferno 6561 P

    Registration No: M897949
    DOB: 10/02/16

We have used Inferno and his son, Megatron recently. Sired our herd bull Royal Inferno. Offers nice growth genetics in a maternal package.

  • WCF Mr Silver Gun 467

    Registration No: M847860
    DOB: 03/14/14

We use Silver Gun for his terminal prowess and due to the success of his daughters in the Fink herd. He provides unmatched TSI, Marbling, and growth. We have also AIed to some of his sons and expect to continue to offer some Silver Gun genetics through embryo offerings.

  • ACE-ORR Lock N Load 243

    Registration No: M836295
    DOB: 09/12/2012

Sire of our Fink 1625 bull. We appreciate him as an ideal southern US/Gulf Coast developer of commercial bulls.

Selection That Goes Beyond the Surface

We don’t chase single traits. We build complete cattle.

Every herd sire must meet strict standards across:

  • Disposition → cattle that are manageable and safe

  • Structure & soundness → built to last, not break down

  • Performance data → backed by measurable results

  • Pedigree strength → consistency across generations

  • Real-world functionality → cattle that work outside a feed program

Built for the Long Term

We’re not selecting herd sires for a single sale season.

We’re building a genetic base that improves with every generation.

That means making disciplined decisions. Choosing bulls that may not just look the part, but consistently produce cattle that perform where it counts.
